UPDATE: I posted an article with what I did with this domain name here.
Approximately three months, as a spur of the moment decision, I decided to buy the domain name:
BigGirlfriend.com
Not the smartest of my investments, I’ll admit it, but I figured I might be able to make something fun out of it or resell it. It’s pronounceable, correctly spelled, no dashes and is/can be an expression. What I mean by that is.. girlfriendbig.com doesn’t make sense.
So, I’m extending this question out to the public:
What Do I Do With This Domain Name?
I invite anyone and everyone to post their take on what I should do, here are some examples of things I can do, hopefully it will get your imagination running.
- List it on eBay and hope you get the $3 it’s worth, it’s worthless
- Make a porn site featuring, the.. uh.. larger demographic.. or women (not likely)
- Design and Develop a fun site possibly where people are open to post anonymous comments on present or past girlfriends, good or bad
- Use it as a branding platform for a website not associated with anything big or female.
- Sell it privately by convincing someone it has unlimited potential as a domain name
- Got a different idea? Post it!
Help a friend out. ![]()
Cheers and thanks guys. ![]()

Make a social commmunity on it for people and their (girl) friends more oriented towards the girl next door thing people can exchange stories groups bookmarks etc.

I think it has potential as a brand name. Maybe as a women oriented e-zine or a fashion line for larger-than-average frauleins. Or short of getting into the wily world of porn, the next closest thing would be a dating-site.
It should be worth more than $3 my friend.

How much do you want for it ?

I paid $8. If I get $10 after Paypal’s deductions, I’ll be a happy man.

What about using one of the paid parking schemes and then try to get some inbound links?

Paid parking schemes worry me a little bit because the effort I’d put in to boosting the domain’s PR could have been spent promoting it with an actual project or other revenue model.
