An Introduction

I felt as though I should start everything off with an introduction so you can know the man behind the blog.
I’m a graduate in Graphic Design at Algonquin College. I currently work at a downtown advertising agency here in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Although I’ve done work in print, my area of specialty is definitely web-based. Fortunately, I’ve been blessed with the ability to pick up things quickly. This allowed me to build a skillset not normally learned in my field and has made me valuable in the workplace.
Over the years, in addition to software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), Macromedia Studio (Dreamweaver, Flash) and 3D Studio Max, I’ve picked up ASP, ASP.NET, PHP, Javascript, some Ajax. I’ve also helped build numerous income generating online community websites. That included everything from Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to concept development to design to implementation to advertising.
I’m going to be using this blog as a way to communicate different ideas, tips, problem-solving and suggestions that any webmaster out there can find useful (hopefully). I will be touching on as many subjects I can think of; and hopefully, like me, you’re eager to learn some new tips and tricks.
An ultra brief list (for now) of things I want to touch on include:
- Advertising, AdSense
- Search Engine Optimisation
- Web Useability
- Everything that goes into getting a website (Hosting, Domains)
- Social Networking
- Business and Marketing Ideas
If you were wondering, I do have an online portfolio, it is located at http://www.oildrip.com and contains various Flash pieces, HTML pieces and some print pieces. I do do freelance work, so feel free to give me a shout from anywhere in the world.

Eric aka Mr. Bot, it’s a shame your link in your name is “nofollow” or your bot-like ways may be boosting your PageRank….
