Have you come across a time where you didn’t have any really good ideas for your blog and needed inspiration? You could write a “Getting Ideas for Your Blog” article, but I have a few other ideas I can toss around to get your mind rolling. I’ll discuss two ideas and why they work.

Analytics Software

Go right to your analytics software (whether it’s Google Analytics, AWStats or something else). What you will find is that there is a section that details what keywords or key phrases were used to arrive to your website. Look through these phrases, what you will find is that people use all kinds of strange and offbeat keywords sometimes.

The phrases and keywords you’re looking for are the ones that would stimulate a strong article, but when they got to your website, the visitor’s needs weren’t quite addressed.

This may seem like a lot of work, and it is. It’s definitely time consuming but it is worth doing if you’re experiencing blog writer’s block. When traffic is low, it’s worth doing if your goal is to attract more viewers.

In my case, let’s pretend someone got to my site by searching for “Are web people, nice people?”, that gives me a decent idea for an article that has potential. I could talk about web geeky stereotypes or even gift ideas for your web programming spouse.

Solve Problems

Talk about a problem, a problem you weren’t quite sure how to fix, a problem you experienced in your everyday life, a problem you got through. This can be tailored to any blog. In my case, it’s often technical problems, but it can be woman problems, layout problems, binocular problems. It could be something that happened at work or while you were working on a school project. It can be anything.

As much as everyone is a unique snowflake (contrary to some movie references), we experience similar problems. After all, we are all part of the same species.

Cheers, hope that helps. :)
