I discussed in a previous article that I had a domain name (BigGirlfriend.com) that I had no idea what to do with. Turns out I developed an application that I was going to use (regardless if it’s released to the public or not) and figured I’d whip up a quick skin and throw it on the server for the public to use.

Here’s some advertising I whipped up:

Music Search Google

Unfortunately, it didn’t do too well on Digg, so I’m toying with the idea of using internal advertising on my blog to replace some old advertising that simply wasn’t profitable. I figure if I can get one solid visitor who forwards the link to a friend of theirs, it’ll be worth the ad space.

What Does It Do

What the web application does is it allows you to search for files using Google. It’s based on a search syntax that can be typed into Google, but who can be bothered with doing that. It searches and presents results featuring exposed directories for the file extensions that you specify.

What I’m asking of anyone who reads this article is, does anyone have any ideas to further promote this? There is competition out there, but they’re usually big and clunky.

I’m welcoming to any thoughts or criticism. Thanks guys!

I’m guessing you could get some good exposure on my preferred social networking platform, StumbleUpon. Things like this usually seem pretty popular on there. When I’m on my own computer, I’ll be sure to submit it / thumb it up if it’s already been submitted.
